A college without a mission is like a ship without a rudder. I could not agree more with our first Distinguished Springfield Professor of Humanics, Seth Arsenian, who articulated this point in 1969.

In Brief

Springfield College and the YMCA of the USA renewed their historic partnership as President Mary-Beth A. Cooper and YMCA President and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Washington recently signed a five-year agreement.

Norma ’57 and Lt. Gen. Bob Winglass ’57, USMC Ret. were joined by Bob Pataky ’57 and his wife, Nancy, at the Military Ball held at Indian River Colony Club in Viera, Fla.

Father Leo James Hoar, G’71, EdD served in campus ministry from 1977-2007 at Springfield College and other local colleges.

Pride Athletics

For the 12th-consecutive season, the men’s lacrosse team headed back to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament after besting Coast Guard, 12-10, on May 4 in the New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference Championship.
