Pride Athletics
In July, when it was announced that there would be no intercollegiate athletics competition for Springfield College during fall 2020, the void this absence would create for our student-athletes was categorical. The campus thrives on the energy and structure provided through intercollegiate athletics.
Teacher-coaches, support staff, and administration remained committed to providing the student-athletes an outlet to play the sports they love. Through creativity and expertise, teacher-coaches adjusted and modified practices, adhering to institutional, state, and NCAA guidelines. While training opportunities in the strength and conditioning facility looked different, our student-athletes engaged in productive and safe workouts.
While not much that took place this semester was typical, our student-athletes displayed the leadership, toughness, and resilience needed to remain engaged and to prepare for competition when that time comes.
